Yesterday, Mde (Madame) Constance made her acquaintance at 8am! She is a domestice worker, char lady, for some of the people in Green Leaves village. She brought her reference with her and through many hand gestures, French and one or two English words, I gathered she was looking for work. In a pleasant way I hope she understood, I said no thank you. A little while later she was back again, this time with one of the security guards, who tried to explain, with a little more English, that she was looking for work! Again I explained, it was just two who lived here and I could manage, thank you.
Today, Mde Constance arrived again! with another reference from the lady in house #2!. Once again, as politely as I could, I said, not now, thanks. At the moment I'm really enjoying my own space.....the house tends to stay clean, so I reckon a good spring-clean every now and then will suffice.
I've kept the two sliding doors open today. Have managed to wave and say hi to two faces while I've been at the computer.....and chatted to two young ladies who have informed me about the walking every morning at 7am. Ladies meet at the swimming pool and walk for about an hour. The ladies also go out for lunch on most Wednesdays. Will joing up with everyone next week.
It is quiet and peaceful and I've just seen the hugest crow ever! Speaking of which, I've only seen a small orangey/red bird...... I hear birds in the morning, but not what I expected.....strangely lacking a prolific bird community here. I imagined there to be many more and plenty more bird song.
