Unbelievable, I've been on this Mad Magical Island for three weeks!
So far, this little adventure has cost me many tears of frustration, and such a longing in my heart for my grandies that I'm sure it causes my stomach to ache!!
After three weeks my steam iron is steaming (sort of!) The tumble dryer door that decided it needed a new hinge, not to be left out of course, now has a new hinge. Our gas stove whose safety function thingy was, is not, working, has been replaced by either:
a temporary stove in a very bad condition or could this actually be the replacement? Who knows.....between French, Malagasy & English, with none of us speaking more than a few words in each language, it could very well be a space ship for awol chameleons!!!! Me thinks I might just join them and see what life is like on another planet!! Hilton is ready to blow a gasket.....he lodged a formal complaint in writing (email). Will wait for him to check it out ,the stove, that is. If he still has eyebrows after he's lit the burners and the oven!' i might be able to use it........
I almost wanted to cry, did start in fact, then thought, better to write this episode down so I could see the funny side and have a laugh. The up side is, if I don't have a stove, I will become a travelling gourmet journalist for Ft Dauphin (Taolagnaro) and put the local restaurants on the world map for the
"Best Restaurant" and "The Place You Have to Dine Out At" before you die or rather: your "Bucket List" of Restaurants!!!
I hope you are all crawling around on the floor holding your sides as you laugh and think to yourselves: "So glad it's not me!" (Noelene!!!) For those who don't know, Noelene is my younger sister.
